How to style the Suzy Jean
Styling fashion is a creative process that allows you to express your personal taste and individuality. As the winter season takes hold, we met with Adrienne, Fella Hamilton’s Head Fashion Designer, to get some tips on how to style our most popular pant, the Suzy Stretch Jean.
The Suzy Jean is a staple for so many Fella Hamilton customers, can you tell us about the range?
When we realised that our Suzy Jean was a staple for everyone, we decided to expand on colours which now include a total of 15 colours like Taupe, White, Indigo, and Chambray, as well as vibrant hues like Emerald Green, Shiraz, and our latest addition, Red. The range now also includes Suzy Jackets, 7/8th Jean (Sandy), Shorts (Sally) and a Suzy Pull On Skirt for Summer.
Why is the Suzy Jean Fella Hamilton’s best-selling pant and what makes it so popular?
Our customers love the Suzy Jean because of the comfort factor and the look of the jean. The Suzy's hold you in at the waistline with their wide waistband, and the slimline fit makes you look taller. With an elasticated waistband, and made from a cotton-blend fabric that includes stretch, this jean is an easy-care and easy-wear option – perfect for travel!
Can you give us some tips on how to best style the Suzy Jean?
Suzy is so versatile as you can dress it up or wear it casually. Try with a classic jacket, a striped tee, our Suzy Jeans, runners and you’re ready to go! For the weekend, style with our Haven leisure jackets or select from Fella Hamilton’s vast range of quality knitwear.
Do you have any general styling tips to offer the customer?
Wear what makes you feel good, following what is on trend is good but be aware of your body shape and just go with your personal style. At the end of the day confidence is key.
Are there any plans to expand the Suzy Jean range further? And, what are the other upcoming fashion developments for next season?
Our team is consistently exploring fresh colours and shapes to expand the boundaries of our popular ranges. Look out for a new extensive range of colours and the old favourites in the Suzy and Sandy Jeans, plus more matching-coloured jackets! Our Summer range will pop with colour and with new and exciting fabrications and styles. Stay tuned!
What inspires you in your personal styling?
I find nothing more inspiring than the arrival of a new season! The anticipation of warmer weather brings thoughts of crisp cottons, breezy linens, and delightful summer prints. Conversely, as the weather cools, it's delightful to look forward to cosy woollen coats, snug knitwear, including chunky-knit sweaters, and layering pieces.
